Grandchildren are a Treasure from the Lord

My two grandsons came to visit
for several hours on Saturday
while Mommy and Daddy
went to a friend's wedding.

This little one turns a year old today!

Big brother will be three this summer.

He is determined to carry
both soccer balls at the same time.
And he does!

In a quieter moment, I lay on the sofa with the little one perched on top of me.  We listened to an old Steve Green Hide 'Em in Your Heart Bible memory CD -- the same songs their mommy listened to when she was little.

"Let us not grow weary in doing good
In due season we will reap

Let us not grow weary in doing good
In due season we will reap

If we don't lose heart
If we don't lose heart
In due season we will reap
If we don't lose heart
If we don't lose heart
In due season we will reap..."

(I need those words in my own Mommy soul for when it gets wild around here with my children still at home!)

My daughter said they listen to these songs on YouTube.  I haven't found the channel for them yet, but I did find this other Steve Green oldie about children -- one I listened to often when our first children were little.  "Children are a treasure from the Lord."  Maybe that's why we had ten of them...  (But it never hurts to be reminded!)

  1. I love Steve Green's voice...haven't listened to him in years! When I saw your grandsons' images, I was reminded that I once had two boys just two years apart at that age. Now they are 31 and 33...but neither is married, and I don't have any grandchildren. I promised them I wouldn't "bug" them anymore.

  2. What precious grandbabies you have! We don't have any yet. I haven't heard that song but I learned that verse when I was 19, we learned it in a Christian exercise class, lol!

  3. You are going to have many, many grandbabies by the time all your children have children. How precious!! Hey, you could have one hundred if all ten children had ten...I'm sure you never thought about that before, LOL!!
